About Our Organization

Penns Valley EMS Inc. is a private non-profit organization that provides emergency medical care and transport in eastern Centre County, Pennsylvania.  It operates two Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances that are staffed by paid and volunteer Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) from a central location at the station on Ross Hill Road.  It is the primary ambulance provider for Centre Hall and Millheim Boroughs, and Gregg, Haines, Miles, Penn, and Potter Townships.  Its coverage area is approximately 254 square miles with over 5300 households and over 11,000 residents and it is managed by a Board of Directors that is composed of a representative from each municipality served, the current chief, and two senior PVEMS volunteers.

History

Penns Valley EMS is the consolidation of East Centre Ambulance Association (ECAA) and Centre Hall Potter Ambulance (CHPA) and serves the entire coverage areas of the two former services since 1997.  ECAA served the eastern half of Penns Valley and Brush Valley from Brush Mountain Road in Gregg Township east to the Union and Clinton County lines.  CHPA served the western half of Penns Valley and Brush Valley from Brush Mountain Road west to the Harris Township line, north to the Spring Township line, and south to the Mifflin County line.
